Thomas Williams Dowdeswell – self taught using his father’s paintbrushes. He creates art driven by his interest in current affairs and human rights. Combining the issues surrounding the human condition with his love for early twentieth-century art movements, he has produced futuristic, geometric and highly fascinating detailed city scapes that aim to provoke conversation about society and the human form. Not only are Dowdeswell's painting rich in narrative, but also in colour and quality. He attempts “to convey an emotion by means of an arrangement of shapes, or planes, or colours”.

Following on from the original Automaton, this piece depicts the impact of modern day technology on society, with a human seemingly turning into a mechanised man. The bold yellow and pink tones contrast beautifully with the more subdued blues and greens, making for a piece that will be sure to become an eye catching feature in any room.
