The Artemide Group is a global leader in lighting. Since it was founded in the 1960s, Artemide has taken pride of place in some of the most illustrious illumination and furniture shops around the world, whilst its lamps have become an icon of contemporary design. Appearing in most museums of modern art and design, the brand has become synonymous with Italian design, class and innovation. Ernesto Gismondi (1931- ) is the founder of the Artemide group. Between 1957 and 1959 he gained two eminent engineering degrees at Italian Universities. Since the 1960s, he has had a busy and highly successful career devoted to the production of lighting equipment and developing Artemide. In 2008 he received the Ernst & Young Prize “Entrepreneur of the Year” for the Innovation Category.
Nur suspension has a sleek and contemporary dome shape that provides direct downlighting with a sanded glass top that also allows a softer, more subtle diffused light to escape. Nur creates indirect light accompanied by a subtle “halo” effect on the ceiling. Available in Silver and Glossy Black.
