Trend Alert: Think PINK!

Thankfully pink is no longer reserved for Barbie, this year we embrace deep fuchsia, dusty pink and feminine rose hues. Using pink and its myriad of shades in your interior design décor can be a risky affair. Too much and it may look like a child’s bedroom, too little and it will go unnoticed against all other colours in your scheme.

We’ve compiled 6 ways of using pink in your living space to make it look fab!

1. Start small with accent cushions on your sofa

Add some cheer and sophistication to your lounging area with cushions that enhance the look and feel of your sofa. We love these cushion by Bivain with ingenious prints and vibrant colours.

2. Make it bold

However, if you’re unafraid of colour then opt for a pink sofa that will look modern and completely unexpected. Keep the rest of your colour palette toned down so it doesn’t clash with the rest of your décor.

3. Light and Dark

If you’re worried your space is starting to look a bit too fluffy and soft, we recommend pairing pink with darker colours, such as navy, black, and dark greys. Mixing colours in this way will immediately balance your palette and add the wow factor.

4. Flowers for colour pop

This is the best, non-committal, way to introduce pink into your home. Grab a bunch of pink roses, Ann Folkard geraniums, or a few cote-noir orchids and watch your home become alive in an instant. Display them in a transparent vase for maximum impact.

5. Dinner is served

Pink has demonstrated to have the power to stay in our interior décor and even spill through to our tableware. To avoid it looking too ‘pretty’ mix and match with geometric, dark patterned plates. Sherry loves to zhuzh the look with a dash of metallic gold.

6. Light it up!

Choose a table lamp, ceiling light or floor lamp in a pink shade. Not only will it add a millennial edge to your décor but light reflecting through will suddenly become subdued and cosier.
