Architectural Digest Design Show

Architectural Digest’s 2017 Design Show was held at Piers 92 and 94 in New York from March 16th to 19th, and featured an array of the world’s leading brands and designers. The 16th annual show presented furniture stores and stands exhibiting a variety of products from over 400 brands, from classic to contemporary furniture, lighting, home accessories and art, along with kitchen, bath and building projects. The AD Design Show has been a popular affair for many years and has been known to draw over 40,000 design and interior aficionados from all over the world; this year was no different.

As with previous years, the AD Design Show was split into several different featured areas, including Furnish, Made, The Architectural Digest Apartment and The Love Happens Lounge by Koket, all of which exhibited an eclectic collection of home pieces. The Furnish area presented a varied selection of indoor and outdoor furniture products from some of the world’s finest brands, designers and dealers.

The Boca do Lobo stand, pictured above, featured an array of stunning products, including the striking Apollo Gold Mirror. Their display, also featuring products from Koket, achieved a modern but elegant look, with bold furniture pieces creating an incredibly eye catching visual.

Presenting a gorgeously stylish take on a contemporary and bold, yet sophisticated living space was the AD Apartment. Featuring a mostly monochrome colour scheme with vibrant accents, this stand really captured attention. The display was the project of Danish furniture company Carl Hansen & Son and LG SIGNATURE, and was brought to life by celebrated interior designer Shawn Henderson, whose individual take makes for an interesting aesthetic sure to inspire us when furnishing our own homes.

Koket’s dramatic and enticing Love Happens Lounge featured a collection of dynamic products including the Eternity Chandelier III and the Gem Table Lamp. This luxurious display invited guests of the show in to be enchanted by Koket’s latest designs while enjoying a cocktail at the full bar included in the stall!

The Made section, which featured original and unique furniture, art, sculpture, lighting and textile products, was also a popular destination for visitors of the show. This area was filled with items available to purchase on the spot as well as pieces that could be ordered for customers. This year over 70 new makers were exhibited, all bringing a distinct style to the Made area.

An exciting feature of the show was the Jenn-Air Master Class Studio, which was home to all the panel discussions and talks throughout the four days. A variety of different topics were discussed, from ideas about personal style and the influence of fashion on interiors and vice versa to talks about spirituality in design. An impressive array of speakers made special appearances, including TV show Project Runway’s Tim Gunn, among an eclectic mix of other interior designers and architects.

Overall, the AD Design Show was filled from top to bottom with endless style, giving us some much needed inspiration for this season. Take a look at our furniture range for some of the products featured.
