Meet The Maker

This fascinating chair was the last product of a collaboration between Dutch designer furniture producers Artifort, and designer Pierre Paulin. Pierre Paulin was a French furniture and interior designer renowned for making chairs using foams and metallic frames with stretch materials. Paulin’s quirky designs have influenced famous designers such as Olivier Mourgue. Olivier Morgue’s designs have gone on to be featured in Stanley Kubrick's classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

This elegant stool is inspired by a beautiful tulip flower as it spreads its half-open petals. Its curved arms are held by the chrome back and tubing that supports them and that enables the stool to swivel.
