The rug is hand tufted on wooden looms with 100% wool and natural silk, which makes it soft to touch. Each Illulian rug is hand knotted using traditional methods, with carefully selected hand spun wool and vegetable dyes. This method gives a pleasing variation in ground colour, and the faded damask ‘imperfections’ in the rug become truly stunning.
