It’s that time of year again; though the weather may not quite reflect it yet, spring is underway and there is one thing that is on everyone’s mind; cleaning. Today is World Sleep Day; a day for recognising and celebrating the importance of sleep. Organised by The World Sleep Society, the day focuses on raising awareness on preventing and managing sleep disorders, as well as with issues relating to sleep such as medicine, education, social matters and driving. International Women’s Day is a global day that celebrates the various social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women around the world. This year’s theme is #BeBoldForChange – an idea that encourages everyone to help form a more inclusive and gender equal world. The Longest Stay, which is proud to have a female CEO and a team which is largely female, want to highlight some of our key female designers today.

For anyone unfamiliar with Maison et Objet, it is an incredible interior design trade show that hosts hundreds of brands, allowing them to showcase their latest collections and products. Over the course of five days, Paris is flooded with people from all over the world who can’t wait to see all of the new trends, brands and furniture pieces!

We’re not far away from saying goodbye to 2016 now, so we thought it was time to look ahead to the designer furniture trends sure to be ‘in’ in 2017. Of course, no one has a crystal ball, and if our research has told us anything, it’s that lots of people have very different ideas about what’s in store for 2017. However, there are some clear trends that everyone seems to agree on, and though we will see a continuation of some of the trends of 2016, 2017 has lots of new ideas for us!
